Remember these important facts when selecting your ceramic tile. The ceramic tile sample as seen in a dealer’s showroom will not be exactly the same as the tile subsequently installed on your floor. The reason being each glaze application will change the color and/or appearance of the tile. Then, the tile is kiln-fired in a production run. Each run of the tile will produce several different shades (lots) within that run. The shade you receive will be different from other lots in the production run. Also, in selecting your ceramic tile, there are styles offering from moderate to dramatic color and texture variation to simulate as closely as possible the look of natural stone. For example, primary colors in one piece can be yellow, the next piece red, the next brown to imitate natural slate. These styles of ceramic tile will be so labeled as to moderate or dramatic variation and multiple pieces should be seen before installation.
